The Road to Petites

The Road to Petites

You've been asking US for petites, and we've been working diligently behind-the-scenes to deliver the best collection possible - a collection that meets our Universal Standard of quality & fit.

When we started working on petites, we told our fit team that they have to start from square one. No formulaic applications. No short-cuts. They took on the task with the same level of enthusiasm and perfectionism they do with any new piece or collection we release, and set out to make the right proportional shifts so that a mini dress stays mini and that skinny jeans don't turn into boot-cuts.

"We really broke everything down, so we could build it back up again. The most important aspect to getting petites right was making each piece look exactly the same way on a petite, as it would on her taller counterpart. Take the jeans, for example. Our goal was to have her put them on for the first time and say, 'these are the jeans I've been waiting for my entire life!' I think we achieved that." -Emily Sumner, Head of Technical Design.

"There was no room to do anything half way. Shooting on actual petite women felt like an obvious choice that would not only be a huge value-add to the petite customer, but the right move from a brand perspective."- Alexandra Waldman, co-founder & CCO
