Virtual Showroom Stylist

Location: Seattle, WA

Universal Standard is seeking an amazing sales professional to serve as our Virtual Showroom Stylist. Universal Standard’s virtual showroom is an innovative concept that allows consumers to get the US styling experience from anywhere. Individuals on a personal computer or mobile device from anywhere in the world can conduct a video chat with our virtual stylist in order to see our entire collection, get styling tips, place orders and more. This individual excels being in front of a video camera, has amazing communication skills, and has a strong track record in surpassing sales targets and creating sales strategies. You will be expected to reach and surpass ambitious monthly sales targets through customer interaction and service at our by appointment only virtual showroom.

This is a role for a best in class fashion sales person that is always willing to go the extra mile and is capable of thinking outside the box in creating effective sales strategies. You will also curate a compelling customer experience through brand education, one-on-one styling virtual appointments, and establish lasting connections with customers. You will work as part of a creative team that really knows how to pull in the same direction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Source, coordinate and manage all virtual showroom appointments.
  • Lead all customer correspondence, appointment setting and customer follow-up in connection with virtual showroom appointments.
  • Lead the one-on-one virtual showroom appointment by providing individualized styling and fit advice, modeling the product, fielding questions and transacting sales with the goal of providing a great customer experience.
  • Help with merchandising and inventory management of the virtual showroom.
  • Be the eyes and ears – report back on improvements towards optimizing sales and the customer experience.
  • Assist in Bothell-based projects as needed to support the Customer Service, Social Media and Operations’ teams.
  • Create a personal styling experience that provides individual attention and engagement.
  • Communicate trends, support brand messaging, and inspire the customer. Serve as an inspiration and set` a strong example for elevated service and styling.

Inventory Manager

Location: Bothell, WA

Universal Standard is seeking a highly motivated individual to manage inventory in our Bothell, Washington warehouse. You will be the expert in the organization for everything related to inventory operations. Universal Standard is experiencing rapid growth and we will look to you to scale this critical function.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day inventory operations including inbound processing, inventory control, inter-company transfers and return processing.
  • Monitor flow of inventory in the retail, showroom and warehouse locations.
  • Oversee the processing of return and exchange orders, as well as physically restocking inventory.
  • Manage the workload and workflow of the Product Returns Associate.
  • Work closely with Product Development & Sourcing Manager to receive all inventory at Washington warehouse.
  • Lead cycle counts of inventory.
  • Oversee the process for managing organization of product run changes in the warehouse.
  • Fulfill all wholesale bulk orders and IRL inventory.
  • Provide regular and proactive communication to relevant cross functional teams regarding inventory status.
  • Manage the documentation and flow of inventory through warehouse.
  • Generate regular operational reporting to provide insights to management.

The Skills You’ll Need:

  • At least 3 years experience in inventory management operations in a retail, wholesale, or E-Commerce environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Advanced competency in Google and Excel a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of supply chain processes as whole.
  • Familiarity with Stitch Labs, or similar Inventory Management system is a plus.

Head of Retail

Location: New York, NY

Universal Standard is looking for a strategically minded and operationally savvy individual who has a passion to help us disrupt the fashion industry. In this role, you will lead the expansion of Universal Standard’s showroom/retail experience into other markets on a national level, as well as our on-going series of pop-ups across key cities the USA: from A-Z, including finding the space, hiring the staff and running the showroom/retail experiences. This means you will oversee all aspects of implementation, from strategy to execution to optimization - driving Universal Standard’s retail footprint from beginning to end and all of the in-between. You will also be responsible for the leadership, vision, back-of-house management and knowledge necessary to ensure that each location has the proper infrastructure, systems, policies and procedures in place to consistently deliver the ultimate customer experience. In addition, you will be implementing the creative vision of our brand and optimize the customer journey experience throughout all showroom retail and pop-up locations. Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Manage the entire process of establishing and implementing Universal Standard’s showrooms (as well as pop-ups experiences) on a national-basis: all logistics and all operations.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of each showroom/pop-up location. The focus will be on achieving operational excellence in all back-of-house functions, including but not limited to inventory management, staffing, training, overall organization.
  • Liaise with Merchandising for all inventory needs from launch to replenishment
  • Execute all aspects of the store opening, such as researching and identifying the space; negotiating the lease; securing permits; building out stores; and conducting inspections.
  • Oversee operational organization for showrooms/pop-ups.
  • Achieve operational efficiencies from standardizing practices within and across locations, to reinvest in activities that enhance client experience.

Leadership & Talent

  • Oversee all staffing needs; including providing recommendations for necessary team; recruiting; and hiring.
  • Provide leadership across all aspects of our showroom and pop-up roll-out, partnering very closely with all other US departments.
  • Energize team to try innovative approaches, testing and learning constantly and embracing a metrics driven mindset.

Customer Experience

  • Optimize the customer journey throughout existing and new showroom/pop-up locations.
  • Accountable for all aspects of the physical shop experience, including visual presentation, branding, music, lighting, and signage - create and maintain brand guidelines for visual shop expectations
  • Partner with the Operations team to communicate product rotation needs based on individual shop sales, floor capacities, and incoming product drops
  • Ensure alignment with Web and Marketing on creative content and product messaging for global initiatives
  • Must be able to creative problem-solve and react quickly to address business concerns and be resourceful when working within budgetary constraints

Finance

  • Review and consolidate with Head of Operations all showroom/pop-up budgets
  • Manage showroom/pop-up operations budget

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
  • 4+ years of Store Experience/Visual Merchandising/Store Design experience in the luxury brand/fashion sector
  • 4+ years’ proven successful luxury retail operations experience
  • 4+ years in developing and managing people
  • Experience opening new stores and launching new markets (experience scouting locations is a must!)
  • “Go-getter” personality with exceptional execution skills
  • Ability to “get stuff done”; quickly work through issues and solve problems

Assistant Designer

Location: New York, NY

Universal Standard is seeking an Assistant Designer to join our ever-growing team. This individual will be responsible for assisting the technical and design team to successfully conduct fit sessions and develop product. This position will report into the Director of Technical Design.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Receive, organize, and manage tracking of all samples
  • Accurately spec garments and prepare all samples for fitting
  • Evaluate samples prior to fit sessions to ensure previous changes have been made
  • Attend fittings and take clear and concise notes for technical packet comments
  • Input images and notes into Technical Packets after each fitting and share with all necessary parties
  • Manage all TOP comments/ approvals and communicate to vendors/production team
  • Sketch in illustrator and create Color CADs
  • Create Tech Packets as needed
  • Clearly communicate and write fit comments

Universal Standard Marketing Intern

Universal Standard is seeking an enthusiastic and driven intern to join US for the 2019 winter/spring season. In this position, you’ll partner with the marketing team to assist with photo shoot production, man the fashion closet and help track assets after shoots. We’re a small team that works hard but has lots of fun!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helping to run and manage model castings
  • Assisting photo shoot producer with shoot coordination
  • Documenting shoot looks and providing overall support on set
  • Maintaining organization of the fashion closet
  • Marketing field and photography research
  • Departmental responsibilities such as assisting with monthly budgets, calendars, and image archiving

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Strong collaboration skills – able to communicate ideas effectively
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to work independently and to execute multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and of photography equipment is a plus

This is a role ideal for Stylist that loves creating wardrobe solutions, obsessed with fit and is always looking for inspiration. You will be facilitating personalized one-on-one styling appointments and establishing lasting connections with customers.

Note: This role requires Saturday and Sunday Showroom appointments 3 days M-F

Customer Experience Associate

Role Requirements:

  • 1+ years of retail based e-commerce industry customer service experience preferred
  • Managing a queue and influx of customer inquiries, including responding to customers and resolving questions/comments/concerns that arise through multiple points of contact (email, message, chat, text and phone)
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills, ability to manage appropriate follow up with Team members to ensure customer requests are met
  • Communicating various manual order updates to customers on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining records of customer responses and feedback to provide to Management
  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills and ability to compose appropriate customer responses quickly.
