Freelance Senior Technical Designer – Intimate Apparel

Universal Standard is seeking a Freelance Senior Technical Designer to join our ever-growing team. This individual will be responsible for developing the technical components for a brand new line of underwear in sizes 00-40 from market research, sketch creation, trim packages, fabric selection, tech pack creation, grade creation, fit approval to final pre-production approval. This role will own the development of this new category for Universal Standard. This position will report to the Director of Technical Design/Design.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own product categories independently.
  • Manage product lifecycle from creation to final production.
  • Implement strategies and procedures to ensure consistency of fit, construction, quality and costs.
  • Monitor calendar to meet key milestones and deadlines through the development and production process.
  • Manage the consistency, accuracy, and completeness of the tech packs.
  • Review tech/spec packs for each style.
  • Oversee the preparation of samples and documentation during fit sessions.
  • Lead fit sessions and schedule follow-up for corrections.

Who You Are:

Associate Sourcing Manager

As the Associate Sourcing Manager, you will be a key liason for day to day global sourcing operations to ensure on-time delivery of the highest quality products. You will partner cross-functionally with our Technical Design team and vendor partners to ensure deliverables are maintained in the development process. This role will assist the Director of Product Development and Production achieve margin goals and develop the best product for our customers. DC Garment Quality Control Technician

As the DC Garment Quality Control Technician, you will be a key liaison between HQ and DC to ensure the quality of our incoming products. You will partner cross-functionally with our Sourcing and Technical Design teams to evaluate the specifications and overall quality of the garments. This roll will assist the Inventory Manager to control the quality of all incoming products. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, priority driven and organized.

What You’ll Do:

  • Review and evaluate garment specifications, trims, details, packaging of all incoming products on a style level

The Director of Retail & Curation will be a foundational member of a dynamic team, charged with producing the space and cultivating a strong community presence in their location. This person will be tasked with ideating and executing a consistent schedule of brand events to support growth and awareness of the space, increase community engagement, and drive sales. This person will also be heading up all operational activities for the space, working closely with the Lead Stylist to ensure that every customer that walks through our doors has the best experience possible (better than they even expected). Universal Standard’s virtual showroom is an innovative concept that allows consumers to get the US styling experience from anywhere. We are looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Director to join our Marketing team. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing Universal Standard’s customer acquisition strategies. This position presents an opportunity to work on both strategic, long-term plans as well as manage the tactical, day-to-day elements of our digital marketing program. The Digital Marketing Director will ideate, develop and optimize various media channels to provide a seamless experience that converts paid traffic with maximum efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

Universal Standard Retoucher

Responsibilities / Duties

      • Retouching e-commerce on-figure, editorial and social photography
      • Following image and retouching guidelines to ensure image standards are maintained and consistent.
      • Analyze image content, determine necessary enhancements and adjustments, perform color correction and product matching, cosmetic retouching, cropping, and final file output.
      • Own file and server management, ensuring all photography assets are named and filed correctly
      • Assisting with uploading images to Shopify and aiding graphic designers in prepping/locating files, if needed
