The quality of these boots is fantastic, the care that went into crafting them can easily but seen and felt. The shoe itself is a wonderfully hardy leather that was slightly shiny but not overt, It screamed quality. The heel is substantial and firm, a solid block heel that I never felt unsure of. A large toe box to accommodate thicker socks if needed. The fabric which comprised the shaft of the boot was a tightly weaved knit which initially I didn’t have high hopes for. I thought the fabric wouldn’t provide any protection during the chillier days; I’m happy to report that I was wrong. I wore the boots on a rather chilly 30 degree day and felt toasty and warm with boots and tights. Generally, I’m very happy with my purchase however, there are a few areas that could be improved.
They could afford the footbed more cushioning; After a few hours (4) I felt a bit of pain on the balls on my feet. I put in gel insoles to help with this. The block heel of the boot is entirely smooth and perhaps a hard plastic (not entirely sure) however, I felt this was risky and after walking on the hardwood floors in my home I took a misstep, slipped and fell. I could have taken them outside and scratched the bottom of the heel up, but I didn't want to scratch the heel with unnecessary wear. So I took the boots to a cobbler to have an additional tap put on the bottom (rubber to give me more grip) Finally, although the knit of the shaft was snug I continually found myself pulling them up; this was the most disappointing aspect of the purchase. This is a problem I’m not certain how I could fix.
In summary, I love the boots, the quality is fantastic but there are a few flaws.
