Fit Liberty is a complimentary size exchange program. Here's how it works:

If your size changes within one year of your original purchase date, you can make a one-time exchange of your garment for a new one in your updated size.

The exchange is free for domestic customers and processed through the Universal Standard returns portal.

You'll receive a brand-new piece in your new size; not a used one, not a credit. A totally new garment.

Why Fit Liberty Exists
When Alexandra Waldman and I started Universal Standard, we made a decision that most people in the industry told us was a mistake: we were going to design for every single size, from the beginning, and we were going to do it without compromises on quality.
And while many things have changed since then, we’ve stayed true to that founding mission throughout our time as a brand. One thing we've noticed consistently, across thousands of conversations with our customers, is this:
Women — plus-size women in particular — have been conditioned to think of their body size as a temporary condition.
We hear it all the time. Customers buy a size larger than they're currently wearing "just in case." Customers won't invest in a beautiful blazer because they're planning to lose weight. How to Use Fit Liberty — Step by Step
We made the process as simple as possible:

Before you buy, look for the Fit Liberty icon on the product page. Eligible styles are clearly marked across the collection.

Buy your size today, the size that fits your body right now. Not the size you're working toward. Not the size you were last year.

If your size changes within a year of purchase, visit the Returns Portal, initiate a size exchange, and receive a new piece in your updated size at no cost.
Here's a concrete example of how this looks in practice: you buy a ponte blazer in a size 18 (M) in January. By October, your size has shifted to a 22 (L). You visit the returns portal, exchange the blazer, and receive a new one in size 22 (L) at no additional cost and no hassle.

Fit Liberty is available on 500+ best-selling styles across the Universal Standard collection including denim, workwear, athleisure, outerwear, and many other designs.
A few things to note about what's excluded: Final Sale items and Denim Drive items are not eligible for the Fit Liberty exchange nor are any styles that aren’t marked with the Fit Liberty icon on the product page. The program is currently available for US domestic orders only; international customers should refer to our standard returns policy.

Q: Does Fit Liberty cost anything?
A: No. The size exchange is complimentary for all domestic orders on eligible styles. There is no restocking fee and no shipping charge for the exchange.
