"Beautiful color. Hangs well. It will be perfect for fall. Almost like an overcoat. Shoulders not to steep. Fit is excellent."
"I first saw this coat over a year ago and instantly liked it. I use a wheelchair and the longer-than-usual length (for a jacket) and flare that fits over the hips are so helpful for wheelchair use. I waited until it was affordable, but that meant I could not return it because of final sale status. . While it fit my shoulders just right, it is tight across the bust, yet the sleeves are so long! I ordered the same size as other Universal Standard tops, so I wonder what went wrong. Beas Coat is still in my closet, unworn. I am thinking of seeing a seamstress for sleeve shortening, but must wait because of the added expense. I could wear it unbottoned and with a lovely scarf, to compensate for the snug fit, but that won't do in winter. Sigh, I really wanted this coat. Perhaps it will fit someone else, but I am not ready to give it away."
"This is such a striking jacket. I’m tall with long arms and the sleeves are a perfect length I’m normally a 12/14, and the small is a little roomy on me, but I can layer over sweaters. ."
"my 2nd Beas Coat - this one in a fun, pretty color. Very practical, warm and stylish. What more do you want from a coat!"
"Love!! Beautifully made. Unique and lovely piece of clothing!!"
"Great quality! Love the cut. Unfortunately the holes for the sleeves are small I will be returning the jacket hoping to get a different size but it's out of stock."
"First, this is a beautiful coat. The color, shape and style are wonderful. It just doesn't fit my large upper arms. I can't pull my arms completely in at the arm/shoulder point. I even went up a size to a 2XL. I'm so disappointed because I really like the look and wanted it to work. I don't think I can get a refund either. Sad."
"I had my eye on this coat and it FINALLY went on sale. I didn't really need it, but I splurged - and wore it the first 3 days in a row. The fabric (wool) is excellent. The lining is great. I read that someone had trouble driving in theirs, so I sized up. Note: this probably won't apply to anybody, but I'm in a wheelchair and the curved front means less bulk in my lap. For a REALLY cold day you might want full coverage, but this coat will keep your bottom warm!"
"This coat would be absolutely perfect if it had some slant pockets on the hips to slide your hands into and keep them warm. There are a couple flaps and perhaps I can cut some stitches to open the pockets but it's not clear the flaps are anything more than decorative. Plus those won't be great for keeping hands warm. Otherwise the cut fit and color are PERFECT. So glad I finally went for it. I got so many compliments immediately the first day I wore it. I live in New England, so it does get cold here, but I also overheat very easily. So far this coat seems perfect to help keep you warm when you need it but not when you don't."
"The cut of this coat is what makes it special - elongating like a dressage riding jacket. This is also what makes the fit a little trickier on a curvy girl. I ordered my usual top size small and it skimms my belly area when buttoned up. The arms are long and will require tailoring but I think it is worth that additional cost for a perfect fit. The wool is substantial although not a hard gaberdine type wool, it is also not soft. For the Minnesota climate it will be a Fall- early winter coat and not appropriate for the bluster of December and January."
