We recommend measuring yourself for the best fit. Measure around your bust at the fullest point, your waist at the narrowest part, and your hips at the fullest part. Compare your measurements to our size chart to find your perfect fit. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL). If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. What is Universal Sizing?

We thought conventional sizing seemed skewed, so we shifted the spotlight to reflect the real bell curve. If the average woman wears a size 18, then that should be called a Medium, right? Our sample size is an 18, and we engineer every single size from there to ensure the perfect fit for all of US. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL in Universal Standard sizing).

What is your return and exchange policy?

We offer free shipping and fast returns. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return or exchange items through our Returns Portal at universalstandard.happyreturns.com. Exchanges are free for domestic customers. Please note that Final Sale items are not eligible for returns.

Fit Liberty is our revolutionary shopping program that allows you to buy for the size you are right now. Any piece in the Fit Liberty collection is eligible for a one-year size exchange (beyond our standard return policy) should you go up or down in size within a year. What materials does Universal Standard use?

We use premium, carefully selected fabrics for comfort and durability. Each product page displays the specific fabric composition and care instructions under the Fabric & Care section. Our materials are chosen to maintain their quality wash after wash. Common fabrics include our signature Moro Ponte, premium cotton blends, and luxurious liquid jersey.

These are the probably the best jeans I have ever owned

"These are the probably the best jeans I have ever owned. They do wonders for my butt and I love the fit- I feel like I look amazing! Great quality! The color is awesome just the right amount of dark wash and it has not faded our rubbed off just yet. The material is soft and stretchy for denim, and I feel like I could have even sized down. I'm happy for the sale because it allowed me to take a chance on these jeans that I had my eye on for a while. I'm fairly tall at 5'10 and wish they were just a little longer, but I naturally have a high waist and long legs. Overall, I love them and would order more in a different wash."

Size down more than you think

"The style of these are so cute, I really like the cuff. However, the fit is different than expected. I followed other reviews and sized down and after wearing I would recommend sizing down twice. This was my first time ordering from universal standard and both pairs of jeans I ordered were not sized as advertised and are both way too big on me. I’m disappointed because when I first put them on, they fit great. But after only a couple hours, they are so loose they’re falling down. I am very curvy and never have issues like this. Very disappointed I can’t return, if I order from this company again I’ll be sizing down atleast two sizes."

My Most-Often Worn Pair of Jeans

"I own a few Carols and now also this in Black. The fabric is heavier than the blue options, which makes it really perfect for New England winter. After a dozen or so washes, there is some fading - but nowhere near as much as I expected. And the fading is "even" across the pants. I can dress these up or down, wear with all shoes and sneakers, and feel comforable all day. I have worn on long road trips and on a 6hour flight -- and stayed both confortable and fresh-looking. The pockets are deep enough to hold a phone, but not so deep the disrupt appearance around the thighs, Yes, there is an "black denim" material odor for the first few washes and that goes away long before the color fades. There was no noticeable coloration of other clothes in same wash. Seriously - Universal Standard - please always keep these available!"

I am thinking of getting them hemmed with a one or one and a half inch hem (I have short legs and I am not sure how I feel about the cuffs). Still, all around I will get lots of wear from these."
