How do I find my size at Universal Standard?

We recommend measuring yourself for the best fit. Measure around your bust at the fullest point, your waist at the narrowest part, and your hips at the fullest part. Compare your measurements to our size chart to find your perfect fit. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL). If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. What is Universal Sizing?

We thought conventional sizing seemed skewed, so we shifted the spotlight to reflect the real bell curve. If the average woman wears a size 18, then that should be called a Medium, right? Our sample size is an 18, and we engineer every single size from there to ensure the perfect fit for all of US. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL in Universal Standard sizing).

What is your return and exchange policy?

We offer free shipping and fast returns. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return or exchange items through our Returns Portal at universalstandard.happyreturns.com. Exchanges are free for domestic customers. Please note that Final Sale items are not eligible for returns.

Fit Liberty is our revolutionary shopping program that allows you to buy for the size you are right now. Any piece in the Fit Liberty collection is eligible for a one-year size exchange (beyond our standard return policy) should you go up or down in size within a year. What materials does Universal Standard use?

We use premium, carefully selected fabrics for comfort and durability. Each product page displays the specific fabric composition and care instructions under the Fabric & Care section. Our materials are chosen to maintain their quality wash after wash. Common fabrics include our signature Moro Ponte, premium cotton blends, and luxurious liquid jersey.

Incredibly comfortable dress

"The fabric is so soft and moves with you beautifully. I am six feet tall and it can be hard to find maxi dresses and skirts that are long enough. This dress is perfect for my height. I usually don't wear t-shirts because I prefer scoop or V necks so I took a little bit of a chance with this one. The neckline is not nearly as confining as I thought it might be so I am keeping it, because the positives about this dress far outweigh any minor issues I have with the neckline. For me, a V-neck would make it perfect and I would love it even more."

Great dress, I sized up for a loose fit

"The dress is the perfect canvas to be worn different ways. Plain with flat sandals for easy running errands. Under a blazer with wedges for an office casual look. Usually in US dresses I take a small which I initially ordered but exchanged for a medium so the dress skims over my derrière."

Maxi neckline is different

"I love the Halie T-Shirt dresses so I was excited about this maxi style however it doesn’t fit like same as a Halie T-Shirt dress. Most noticeably in the neck- the neckline of this maxi dress is high and tight and thicker than the nice thin and open Halie short dress. I felt like it was a misrepresentation that these were the same styles with just a different length. The neckline and fit does not match unfortunately."

Best Dress Ever

"This dress has a loose fit, is incredibly soft, and is the most beautiful color of yellow. The pockets are deep and I can fit a lot in there if I want. For a more casual breezy look I go without a belt. But because I like to give my waist some illusion of smallness I throw a black belt on top of the dress for some shape. Very stretchy. Note: This hang dries quite quickly! As a sensory sensitive autistic person, this fabric is the best ever. I will be ordering this dress in more colors. I ordered a S 14-16. My measurements are Bust: 47 Underbust: 38 Waist: 40 Hips: 45 Height: 5'4""

great color, cut, & fabric but poor pocket placement

"I ordered a M which I have many pieces from US that fit perfectly in that size, but the pockets really bulged out. So I exchanged for a L and the pockets still bulge out. If they were like four inches higher on the dress, they wouldn't bulge at all. I'm keeping the L because I really like the dress, and if I move the pocket fabric to the back when I'm not using the pockets, they're not noticeable."

Love it

"Very comfortable t-shirt dress! I'm about 5'8" and the Medium length is perfect (skims my ankles). I'm not sure how this would work for someone shorter unless you hem it or the smaller sizes are shorter. The fabric sits well and smooths over any lumps without being clingy. I love it to travel and run errands with!"
