We recommend measuring yourself for the best fit. Measure around your bust at the fullest point, your waist at the narrowest part, and your hips at the fullest part. Compare your measurements to our size chart to find your perfect fit. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL). If you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. What is Universal Sizing?

We thought conventional sizing seemed skewed, so we shifted the spotlight to reflect the real bell curve. If the average woman wears a size 18, then that should be called a Medium, right? Our sample size is an 18, and we engineer every single size from there to ensure the perfect fit for all of US. Our sizes range from 00-40 (4XS to 4XL in Universal Standard sizing).

What is your return and exchange policy?

We offer free shipping and fast returns. If you're not completely satisfied with your purchase, you can return or exchange items through our Returns Portal at universalstandard.happyreturns.com. Exchanges are free for domestic customers. Please note that Final Sale items are not eligible for returns.

Fit Liberty is our revolutionary shopping program that allows you to buy for the size you are right now. Any piece in the Fit Liberty collection is eligible for a one-year size exchange (beyond our standard return policy) should you go up or down in size within a year. What materials does Universal Standard use?

We use premium, carefully selected fabrics for comfort and durability. Each product page displays the specific fabric composition and care instructions under the Fabric & Care section. Our materials are chosen to maintain their quality wash after wash. Common fabrics include our signature Moro Ponte, premium cotton blends, and luxurious liquid jersey.

Pilling fabric after one wash

"So disappointed after I chose a number of fit liberty dresses as my first Universal Standard purchase, and they’re pilling after one wash. It’s pretty unacceptable for the price point, and I did follow the washing instructions. I was really excited to buy fit liberty cause I just started exercising again after having a baby. Now I don’t feel like I would want a second of any of these dresses in a new size. Awesome dresses prior to washing, so enjoy the two or three wears you get out of them while they look new and high quality."

One and done, day to night!

"I hesitated. Twice. And then I ordered. I love, love, love this dress! The fabric is light and stretchy but not thin. It skims over all my lumpy bumpy parts. I ordered my usual US size, large, and the fit is roomy but not oversized. I would say to have it fit like in the photo, go down a size or two. As advertised, I have worn this all day and then thrown on some big earrings and nighttime shoes and gone out for drinks and dinner. As always, ordering and shipping was simple and efficient. I received regular updates about my order until it arrived. Another US win!"

Great Transitional Piece

"The Carrea Relaxed Liquid Jersey Dress is the perfect transitional piece for spring, summer, and fall. I purchased it on a whim during a sale and am very pleased with my purchase. The fabric is light but still drapes well. As the picture shows, the dress is loose, but the drape helps keep it from being shapeless. I also like pairing it with a denim jacket to give it a little more form. If you're between sizes for US pieces, you might want to size down."

"Shockingly bad? First non linen US purchase and this fabric is awful - cheap and thin, animal print pulls white at tension points& seams. Drape on sides ripples oddly, like it’s adding body rolls where I don’t have them even tho it’s oversized. Discount bin all around, very disappointed when I’ve *loved* previous US purchases."

"The leopard print dress is the second one I’ve purchased in this style. I also have it in black. I absolutely love the black dress so I just had to buy it in the blue leopard print, too!
