"I ordered this dress and a tee shirt in the same size, tee shirt was way too small, this dress? Waaay too big! I am exchanging for a size down, but not convinced that it won't still be too much fabric. I like it, the fabric is nice, I just hope the next size down works. Really inconsistent sizing here is making my life miserable."

"I had to return the first dress I got for a size smaller. I am an 18-20, but had never ordered US before, and always size up for most clothing purchases. I rarely buy things that actually fit me, and just cinch dresses with a belt. This one would look strange belted, so I sent it back for my actual size. The fabric is decent, but a little thin for the price, IMO. You can see the shadow of where my legs start and end through the dress in the sunlight , but it's not quite seethrough. I still need a slip before I'm comfortable in it. I have the blue and white striped version, so I'm not sure if the black color is the same. All in all, I wouldn't say it's a bad dress, just a bit flimsy for this price tag."
"I really want to love universal standard. I appreciate their philosophy, I like the style of their clothes. Two years ago, I bought three pieces: a dress in XL, a dress in XXL and a shirt in XXL. Found that I am not an XXL in their store. Totally fine. The piece I loved however, was the XL dress. Now, in the last two years, I've had a kid, and am a reliable XXL, but still fit in my Universal Standard XL dress, and get compliments on it. So, I buy this dress (the black smock dress) in XL thinking it will fit like a glove. Nope. . it hangs on me like a potato bag. Can't wear it with a belt because of the smock detail, and it was final sale. The dress I used to determine my size, fits perfectly and I get compliments on it. This one? So. So. Baggy. This wouldn't be enough to deter me, but I bought some tops mostly for weekends on sale in this same purchase. One of the XLs fits like a glove, one XXL is the single largest shirt in my collection, and the other XXL is a flowy fit that will work for work. Like. . . ??? For the price, I expect greater consistency from the same brand."
"This is hands-down one of the best items I've ever purchased. I am a tall, apple-shaped woman and this dress is so flattering. Most designs are made for hourglass figures and those of us with larger tummies and a not so defined waistlines are sometimes left to longingly look at clothes we wish would look good on our bodies. This dress!!! This dress hits the mark! I got so many compliments. The material is top-notch and doesn't wrinkle easily. My only complaint is that it doesn't come in other pastel colors. I would have love to see this in lue and white, khaki and white, or pink and white stripes or a solid in some other color than black."
