How to Take Care of Your Clothes

We already know how important it is to buy quality clothing that lasts for more than two washes, but there may be more you can be doing to actually help your clothing stand the test of time...

Like how to remove blood (or ink):

Blood or Ink. With a cloth underneath the soiled area, re-wet the stain with ice cold water. Using a Q-Tip or small towel soaked in a cleaning solution (5 ounces water, 1 ounce ammonia, 1 ounce peroxide, 1 ounce color safe detergent) lightly tap the stain, pushing it onto the cloth underneath.

Luckily, the New York Times steps in to poll designers (and the dry cleaners they trust) to get "the experts’ tips for wearing, storing and even cleaning your clothes correctly to prolong the life of your favorite items."
